Literacy Week

“At Vivero Magarpatta, we celebrated Literacy Week from 9th to 13th September, sparking a love for books and encouraging our young learners to become avid readers. Throughout the week, children eagerly brought their favorite books to swap with friends, fostering a spirit of sharing and discovery. Creative activities were a highlight, with children making hand puppets for monkeys and birds, inspired by the stories teachers read aloud. Nursery children enjoyed ‘The Hungry Caterpillar’ by Eric Carle, while K2 students were captivated by ‘Room on the Broom.’ The K2 students impressed us with their ability to reimagine the story, creating their own characters and crafting unique narratives. Our parents also played a wonderful role, with those from K1 and nursery joining us to read books to the children, enhancing the experience with their support. The grand finale was the culmination of Literacy Week, where all preschool children dressed up as their favorite story characters and paraded smartly to music in front of their parents, led by their teachers. Afterwards, the children visited their classes, where teachers showcased the week’s activities and work. We also encouraged parents to share what they’re reading and continue the reading journey at home. We want this journey of reading to continue and encourage parents to read along with their children so that they grow into avid readers in the future. We’re so proud of our young readers and grateful for the support of our parents in making this week a memorable success!”

Pet Incursion

To culminate Unit 1, our preschoolers had an exciting and educational day learning all about pets. Thanks to parents partnership as Friends of Vivero for all the arrangements. Our children had the opportunity to interact with a rabbit, dog, and a bird—all under careful supervision. Through this hands-on experience, our preschoolers learned not just about the differences between various pets, but also important lessons on how to care for them, understand their needs, and respect their space. This incursion also sensitized the children to the idea that pets are an important part of our community, deserving of compassion, empathy, and responsible care. The vaccinated, child-friendly pets were as happy to be around the kids as the kids were to see them! The joy of petting and feeding their new animal friends brought out bright smiles and helped the children develop a deeper sense of respect and responsibility for the animals in our lives. It was a heartwarming day, filled with valuable life lessons that our little ones will carry with them as they continue to explore the world
